Monday 2 November 2009: I hope this collection is a fitting tribute to the late Keith Smith, it barely scratches the surface of his excellent collection and has been great pleasure to view and work on the slides. Keith sadly died back in 2006 and the idea to put some of his pictures on the net for all to see came from a chat with his long time friends Dave Stacey and Andy Pringle, it has taken a while to come to fruition but i'm sure you will agree it has been worth it Big thanks must go to Andy Pringle for allowing me to showcase these pictures.

Deltics at the 'Plant'

Wednesday 1 April 2009: Watching trains fly past at speeds of up to 180mph has to be seen to be believed. The new line from London to the Channel Tunnel offers many vantage points to view the Eurostars & Javelin units, i hope to return in 2010.

RIP 55014 Duke of Wellington's Regiment

Monday 3 January 1955: 55014 ' The Duke of Wellington's Regiment' was stopped at York TMD on 11 Nov 81 and finally withdrawn on 22 Nov, it moved to Startford TMD to donate a power unit to 55002 before making it's last move to the Plant on 5 Dec 81, scrapping was completed in Feb 82. This pictoral shows 14 after withdrawl & arrival at the Plant right through to its very end - as the hedboard said 'FAREWELL TO THY GRATENESSS'

Wednesday 22 April 2009: This area has always been special for me as i can just about recall early trips with my brother to phot the Deltics. Many subsequent trips have seen the arrival of the wires and 91 but the scenary still makes the trip worth the effort. This gallery covers the ECML from Northumberland to Berwick, along the coastal stretch past Marshall Meadows, Lamberton and up to Burnmouth. Burnmouth to Edinburgh has its own collection.
